find: to locate a specific file by name or extension
- syntax:
find options starting/path expression - example
find /home -name *.jpg # to find all .jpg files in the /home and sub-directories.
cp: to copy a file from one place to another

cp [OPTION] SOURCE DEST

example:
cp file.doc newfile.doc #to make copy of a file cp file.doc /temp #to copy file to another directory cp main.c demo.h lib.c /temp #to copy multiple files cp * /temp #to copy all files
rm: to remove or delete a file or directory

rm filename
rm file1 file2 file3
rm [OPTION] filename
rmdir EMPTY_DIRECTORY
rm -d EMPTY_DIRECTORY
rm -r NON_EMPTY_DIRECTORY #r stands for recursive
rm -r NON_EMPTY_DIR1 NON_EMPTY_DIR2\ -
options:
i : interactive, to confirm each file before deleting
f : force, to remove files without prompting even if files are write-protected v : verbose, to show files being removed one by one r : recursive, copy all the subdirectories and files in a given directory and preserve the tree structure -
example:
rm file.doc rm file1.doc file2.pdf rm *.pdf #remove all pdf files rm -i file.doc rm -f file.doc rm -r temp rm -rf temp #VERY DANGEROUS!!! Removes a directory and all its contents without prompting rm -r * #VERY DANGEROUS!!! This will delete every file and every directory you have.
mv: to move a file from one directory location to another. It also lets you rename a file

mv [OPTION] old_filename new_filename
mv SOURCE DIRECTORY\ - example:
mv file1.pdf FILE1.pdf #to rename a file mv file.pdf temp #to copy the pdf to directory temp
apt-get: to install or remove packages from linux
- syntax:
sudo apt-get install PACKAGE_NAME
nvidia-smi -L: This command shows the list of GPUs present on your machine.
